Larimer Humane Society Staff Have a  Message for Volunteers During Volunteer Appreciation Week

Nearly 139,000 meals were given to homeless animals with the help of our animal care volunteers.

On average, the development volunteers spend 15 hours a week helping our development team thank donors and supporters like you for supporting our work and the mission of the organization.

In 2019, volunteers assisted with more than 1,500 spay and neuter surgeries, as well as other vital procedures to help heal injuries, recover from illnesses, and set pets up for their best chance in a loving new home.

When an animal is lost, their ticket back home is a license, and the licensing volunteers helped reunite more than 1,400 animals with their families in 2019.

If you’ve ever enter the adoption side of Larimer Humane Society, chances are you’ve met one of our adoption host volunteers. They guide clients to the adoptable animals, answer questions about each animal, and welcome each guest into the building.

Larimer Humane Society’s marketing and community outreach volunteers helped to get more than 13,000 likes on Larimer Humane Society’s Facebook page.

Our behavior and enrichment volunteers walked 290,000 miles with adoptable dogs at Larimer Humane Society.

More than 560 animals needing special attention and care found homes with Larimer Humane Society’s foster volunteer program. When Larimer Humane Society had to put a hold on adoptions during the COVID-19 pandemic, 51 foster volunteers were there to give them a loving, temporary home.
