Welcome to Pets of the Week! Today we are introducing Maddy, a three-year-old black-and-white pit bull mix, Belle, a ten-year-old Siamese cat, and Loki, our longest-term resident who would love to find his perfect home soon!
Three-year-old Maddy is a black-and-white female pit bull mix. When Maddy came to us, she was fearful and seemed to be under socialized. However, since being with us, she has warmed up to people and seeks out attention from anyone who walks by her kennel! Because Maddy can be shy in new situations, she asks that her new family have a little extra patience with her as she settles in. Pit Bulls can be very energetic and need lots of exercise, but are also known for being cuddly lovebugs. Some days, you may discover that it’s the couch potato life for you and Maddy! Swing by and meet her today; she can go home for $175.
Say hello to Belle! This ten-year-old beauty is a long-haired seal point Siamese cat who has been with us for about a month. Belle, like many of our cats, was surrendered for house soiling (i.e. not using the litter box.) This is one of the most common reasons that cats are given up, but this behavior often stems from stress or a medical condition. In fact, Belle had a UTI when she came to us! She is being treated for it and has been using her litter box while here at the shelter. Belle is a sweet, loving cat who needs her perfect family! Do you have a warm lap or a windowsill in the sun where she can sleep? Come meet Belle at the shelter! She can go home for $45.
Loki is our longest term resident and has been here since August of 2018. This black and white mouse is one year old -- This means that Loki has been at the shelter for over half of his life! We are happy to take care of him, but we know Loki would prefer to have his own special family to love. Loki came to us when he was only three months old, and has been waiting for his forever family for a long time. Do you need a small friend that you can build mazes for? Mice are intelligent and curious creatures and Loki is no exception! Come by LHS and hold the little guy to see if he is the right pet for you. Loki’s adoption fee has been waived; now all he needs is you!
