pdfAnimal Care Technician (ACT)
2 Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society seeks qualified applicants to join our Animal Care Technician (ACT) team.  Please include days and times of work availability, as well as start date availability, in a cover letter.  Our ACTs are responsible for the daily care of Shelter animals as well as habitat cleaning.  Animal care positions involve a significant amount of animal interaction and physical labor with limited sedentary work.  Animals in our care include dogs, cats, small mammals, exotic animals, barnyard animals and more.  Must have emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills.  Work shifts vary and include at least one weekend day as the positions generally provide animal care coverage from 7:30am to 7:30pm Monday through Friday and from 7:30am to 5:30pm Saturday and Sunday.  Local applicants preferred as relocation assistance is unavailable. 

Hiring range starts at $11.20 per hour. Closes when filled or January 15, 2019.

Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society seeks qualified applicants for the position of Animal Protection and Control (APC) Officer.  Please include days and hours of work availability, as well as start date availability and salary requirements, in a cover letter.  Our Animal Control Officers are responsible for enforcing State, County and City codes and ordinances governing animal control functions (e.g. field enforcement, licensing, animals at large, animal bite investigations, etc.) and include animal handling and constraint. The position also performs the duties of an Animal Control Dispatcher.  Officers represent the organization in a professional, courteous and ethical manner at all times. The job requires learning a wide range of policies, procedures and processes quickly and includes a significant amount of physical fieldwork, handling of animals of all temperaments and more.  Requirements include a minimum of one-year animal care, animal welfare and/or animal handling experience in a professional capacity.  Proven clerical, typing and math skills required.  Must be able to read and interpret ordinances, prioritize duties and multi-task within a busy work environment.  Proven emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills required.  English and Spanish bilingual skills and experience are a plus.  Ability to relate information to the public and staff in a concise, clear manner is required as is the ability to work in direct contact with aggressive and injured animals.  Previous enforcement and/or dispatch experience a plus.  Solid computer skills required and knowledge of Chameleon software helpful.  The work schedule is generally 4x10 or 5x8, subject to business need, and includes one weekend day, holiday shifts and compensated on-call overnight shifts.  Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings.  Living arrangements within 30 miles of the Shelter due to on-call duties.  Local applicants preferred as relocation assistance is unavailable.

Hiring range starts at $13.40 per hour (non-certified) and higher for Colorado certified candidates with applicable experience.  Closes when filled or January 15, 2019.        

 

pdfClient Services Representative, Animal Shelter  
Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of regular full-time (40 hours per week) Client Services Representative (CSR).  Please include days and times of work availability, as well as start date availability, in cover letter.  This is a regular full-time, 40 hour per week, position.  Our CSRs represent the Organization in a professional and courteous manner and provide quality service at the Shelter’s front desk.  The job requires great customer service skills, both in person and over the phone.  English and Spanish bilingual skills and experience are a plus.  Must be able to quickly learn and accurately use specialized software as well as learn and apply a wide range of policies and procedure.  Work includes processing animal adoptions, animal returns to owners and animal surrenders as well as physical animal handling, data entry and other duties.  The job includes both sedentary work when processing client information and physical work when handling animals.  Must have emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills. pdfClient Services Supervisor, Animal Shelter
Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Client Services Supervisor.  Our Client Services Supervisors are responsible for the operations of our Adoption and Intake areas, during a particular shift, ensuring services to clients are consistent and high quality.  Services include animal adoptions, returns, intakes, merchandise sales and more.  The job is a full-time, 40-hour per week, working supervisor position.  Incumbents train and supervise Client Services Representatives and volunteers, and are engaged in client services tasks.  Additional responsibilities include participating in our Shelter Team and Supervisor and Manager meetings and reviewing work-flow, creating schedules and suggesting and implementing improvements.  The job involves daily, hands-on, interaction with animals including dogs, cats, small mammals, birds, various types of reptiles and more.  Requirements include two years of customer service experience plus one year of proven staff supervisory experience, preferably in an animal related industry, or six months of Larimer Humane Society Lead experience.  Proven emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills required.  The schedule for this position will include a weekend day and overtime will be required as needed.  Please include start date availability, days and times of work availability and pay requirements in cover letter.  Local candidates preferred as there is no relocation assistance available for the position.

Hiring range starts at $14.00 per hour and may be negotiable commensurate with applicable experience. Closes when filled.

Full Time (40 hours), Exempt, Salaried Position

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for our Director of Finance position. This senior level position is responsible for planning, directing and controlling the finance function of the Society by following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.  The position works closely with the CEO, Board of Directors and staff to help guide the financial development of the Society to ensure healthy and responsible fiscal activities within the context of the Society’s mission and goals.  This includes working with members of the management to prepare and monitor the annual budget, conducting financial analysis and preparing financial reports, developing and implementing an effective system of accounting, managing the payroll system and function and working with the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.   In addition, the Director of Finance directly supervises the Licensing Department Supervisor.  The position reports to the CEO.

Hiring range starts in the mid-60’s and is negotiable commensurate with experience.

Larimer Humane Society, located in Northern Colorado, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Marketing and Community Outreach Program Manager.  Please include availability and salary requirements in cover letter.  This is a full time, salaried, exempt position reporting to the Director of Development and Community Relations.  The position is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of Larimer Humane Society’s marketing, public relations, social media and advertising efforts. The Marketing and Community Outreach Manager also engages in the research, planning, implementation and evaluation of community outreach activities necessary to build awareness of Larimer Humane Society’s mission, vision, programs, services and community achievements.  Requirements include a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in marketing and community relations.  Minimum of two years professional experience with public relations, promotions and community programs; minimum two years of proven audience-focused persuasive and informational writing experience.  One year media relations experience.  Website and social media program management required.  Basic budgeting and planning experience.  Media spokesperson experience preferred.  Experience producing visual media a plus as is experience with donor and emergency communications.  Non-profit experience desired.  Proven and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills and the ability to positively interact with diverse populations.  Must have emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills. Must be willing and able to work a varied schedule including weekends and evenings as required.  Local candidates preferred as relocation assistance is not available. 

Hiring range starts in the high-40s and is negotiable commensurate with experience.
