The Animals Need a New Shelter

At more than 40 years old, our shelter has outlived its useful life. Although amazing work happens within its walls every day, the small size of our facility prevents best practices that could save even more lives.

We know that we can do so much more to help the animals in our community. We’re committed to placing all healthy and treatable cats and dogs by 2020. We’re close, but we simply cannot do it at our current shelter. Our kennels are too small and we are overcrowded in every area of the facility.

With a new shelter, we will be able to offer behavioral assistance to more animals and better programming for our community members. We’ll be able to meet all industry standards and best practices for animal sheltering for decades to come.

Capital Campaign thermostat

Our new facility is funded through a combination of public and private funds. The public support is coming from a 0.1% sales tax passed by voters in November of 2014. The private fundings is coming from funds raised through our Building a Better World for Pets campaign.
