Petition Language

We have volunteers out carrying petitions all over Larimer County. We need to gather more than 12,000 signatures to place a question on the November 2013 ballot. The question will ask for permission to increase the sales tax one penny on a $10 purchase for the funding for a new animal shelter. Summary:

This petition requests the registered electors of Larimer County to approve an increased sales and use tax of one-tenth of one percent for no more than six years beginning January 1, 2014, and increased debt of $14,900,000 for the purpose of financing a new Animal Care and Control Facility to be located on land owned by the Larimer Humane Society.
