Serving the northern Front Range since 1969, the Larimer Humane Society is an independent nonprofit organization that provides shelter and care to stray and homeless domestic animals, and rehabilitation for injured, orphaned and ill wild animals.

The Larimer Humane Society’s many services are designed to enhance and improve the lives of the people and animals that share our community.

In 2007, LHS provided shelter, medical attention and care to almost 12,000 domestic and wild animals. We reunited lost dogs and cats with grateful guardians, and placed companion animals into new homes. Our Wildlife Rehabilitation Center provided nurturing care to over 3,000 birds, raccoons, squirrels, coyotes, foxes, exotics and farm animals allowing these animals to gain their strength and their freedom back into the wild.

We are dedicated to creating life-saving options for homeless, abandoned, and displaced animals and we invite you to join our success.
