 Hello LHS,
Several months ago, I finally decided to go the humane society after I’d been checking out the dogs online for weeks. My roommates and I had several dogs in mind, one of whom was MaryJo, now named Mika. She was the first dog we met with and we fell in love at first sight.
We knew it was going to be interesting after the first day when she completely destroyed a stuffed animal toy we bought her in less than six hours. Despite her love of chewing anything she can get a hold of, she is one of the smartest and most affectionate dogs I’ve ever seen.
Since we’ve gotten her, she’s learned countless new tricks and commands such as high five, play dead, roll over and shake. She has also been a constant source of entertainment for all us with her goofy antics such as sitting up on her haunches and watching tv with us. I'm pretty sure she thinks she's human. Also, being a house of three girls, we feel much safer with her around as she's an excellent guard dog and lets us know if anyone is out front.
Thanks Larimer Humane Society for introducing us to the missing member of our family! We love her dearly and are excited to spend many years with her in the future.
