Purchase Annie the Railroad Dog and Help Animals |
|
Purchase your piece of Northern Colorado history and support homeless animals! Annie the Railroad Dog lived in Fort Collins from 1934 to 1948 just after the Great Depression and through World War II. She had been a pregnant stray found by local railroad men, who took her back to their depot, cared for her, and found homes for her puppies. Annie stayed on at the railroad depot and greeted travelers, soldiers, and workers as they came and went until her passing at age 14.
Decades later, local sculptor Dawn Weimer sculpted and cast in bronze Annie’s life-sized likeness, which was permanently installed at the Fort Collins Library in 1998. Now, thanks to Dawn Weimer Studios, Annie can live on in your heart and home, while supporting Larimer Humane Society! Order your own 4.5” Annie replica, signed by Dawn Weimer, and 50% of the proceeds will benefit the animals in our community. Dawn Weimer Studios will even ship the statuettes to anywhere within the continental US or Alaska, free of charge!
