Our agency has a paid staff of 65 full and part-time employees. Our funding comes from three sources: donations & fundraising; service revenue; and animal control contracts. Audited financial statements are available upon request.
- Donations and fundraising include memorials, tributes and general
donations made by people like you. Click here for an online donation
form. We have two main fundraising events per year: Fire Hydrant 5K Race, 3K Walk, Pet Fair and Top Cat & Tails Gala.
- Service Revenue includes our adoption fees, rental program and retail sales.
- Our funding from Animal Protection and Control contracts is based
on the services we provide to Fort Collins, Loveland and Larimer
County. Each jurisdiction must have some way to protect citizens from
aggressive animals, pick up stray animals, and ensure that injured
animals receive care. Fort Collins, Loveland, and Larimer County
contract with Larimer Humane Society to provide these services and enforce
local ordinances. The money we receive from these contracts only funds
the services provided and doesn’t help us with the cost
of rehabilitation or adoption expenses. Part of this contract revenue
includes the sale of pet licenses
and when you license your pets you are helping Larimer Humane Society
off-set the cost of providing animal rescue services for your city.
