We are very excited about the establishment of a formal partnership
between LHS and the Poudre School District. Through this partnership,
we hope to expand the Society’s involvement in youth education, and to
establish a link between the students and their community. We also help scout troops work on badges.

Humane education is the process by which one learns to value, respect
and care about the people, animals and environment around them. All of
our lessons are based on these and other character concepts, such as
safety, citizenship and personal responsibility. Choose from a variety
of topics that could fit into your current curriculum and may also
match Colorado Model Content Standards for science, reading, civics and
more.
Our educational programs last about one hour and are free of charge to the public. Our programs are offered to children from the 1st grade and up. Our Humane Educator will come to your school (with live animals if appropriate). A teacher is required to be present during the presentation.
We do accept
monetary donations for this service, which will go toward the care we
provide to the homeless animals in our community. If your group would
like to collect supplies to help the Larimer Humane Society, please view our wish list .
