What
Calling young animal lovers to Larimer Humane Society’s Waggin’ Tails Kids Camp!  This five-day camp will be offered three different times during the summer of 2010 and is designed to teach children all about the Larimer Humane Society and the animals we assist on a daily basis.  Through informative lessons, exciting hands-on activities, fun animal crafts, in addition to visits from shelter staff and our cuddly critters, children will learn how to compassionately care for and co-exist with the animals in our homes and community.

Participating students will receive a shelter tour and learn all about our organization, including our dog, cat, small mammal adoptions; WildKind and Veterinary services; foster care program; and Animal Protection and Control services.  Our lessons and hands-on activities are designed to help children become responsible pet owners and knowledgeable about key animal welfare issues facing our great nation.

Who

  • This camp is designed for upper elementary students, specifically those who will be enrolled in third (3rd), fourth (4th) and fifth (5th) grades during the 2010-2011 school year.
  • Priority will be given to those students who have not previously attended a Larimer Humane Society Kids Camp before.  Enrollment is limited to 10 participants and spaces are reserved on a first-come, first-registered basis.
  • When a spot is reserved for your child, you will receive a confirmation letter with the camp guidelines and information you will need, including dates, times and directions to the shelter.
