collage1539106396026Welcome to Pets of the Week! Today we are introducing Charlie, a six-year-old Pug mix who needs patience and understanding, Baxter, a three-year-old independent cat who would like to be the only pet, and Roethlisberger, a three-month-old mouse who would love to come home with you!

First in line today is Charlie! Charlie is a six-year-old male Pug mix who was extremely fearful when he first came to the shelter. This cute guy has come a long way since he first arrived, and has been living with a foster family for one month now! Sometimes, animals don’t do well in a shelter environment when they can hear and smell other dogs, and people are constantly walking past them. Sending a dog or cat into foster care allows the animal to feel safe in a home environment, adjust to their surroundings, and show who they truly are. For Charlie, this was the perfect solution! If you are interested in adopting Charlie, remember that he may take some extra time to warm up to his new home. Would you like to take Charlie home with you? He is still in foster care, so call the shelter to ask about him today! He is $175.

Baxter is a three-year-old male black cat who was found and brought to the shelter by a community member. Baxter had a microchip, but the chip wasn’t linked to anyone’s name or phone number, so he is now looking for a forever home! If your current pet has a microchip, please make sure your information is up-to-date and accurate in case they ever get lost. Baxter has a bit of an independent personality, and he will do best in a home with no other cats. He enjoys playing and napping, and he would love to sleep on the back of your couch instead of at the shelter! Does Baxter sound like a good fit for your family? Come see him at the shelter! He can go home for $45.

Last, but certainly not least, is little Roethlisberger! This little guy is a three-month-old “fancy” mouse who was born at a Petsmart when the male and female mice ended up in the same cage. Petsmart is not able to sell animals born in their facility, so Roethlisberger came to us to find a forever home! Many of the mice we have here at the shelter are friendly and social, and will climb right into your hand. Roethlisberger and his other football-named friends are no exception! Does a mouse sound like a fun little pet to you? Come meet Roethlisberger, Patriot, Eagle, Bronco, and the other mice today! They can be yours for $5 each.
