Welcome to Pets of the Week! Today we are introducing Lysander, a one-year-old male shepherd mix who needs patience and time to adjust, Garfunkel, a two-year-old male working cat who needs an outdoors home and a job, and Love, a one-year-old tan-and-white gerbil who is looking for a home of her own!
First, in line today is Lysander! Lysander is a shy, curious one-year-old shepherd mix. This handsome fellow is special in a unique way -- he only has three legs! When Lysander came to us in July, his leg was injured beyond repair and he had to have it amputated. He is now much happier and a lot healthier! Lysander is cautious and sweet and has been enrolled in our Pets Needing Patience program. Once Lysander warms up to you, you will have a friend for life. He is learning that his surroundings are safe while he is here with us! However, nothing can compare to the security of a permanent home and a family to love! Come meet Lysander today; he would love to go home with you! He is $225.
Garfunkel is our second pet on the list this week, and he needs a special job! Garfunkel is a two-year-old orange-and-white short haired male cat who has an adorable round face. This cute guy might look like a lap kitty, but Garfunkel is actually a working cat! This means that he is not a regular indoor pet, and he does not enjoy being handled or picked up. Garfunkel is quite adept at patrolling property and catching rodents, however! We have a lot of working cats up for adoption, so come say hi to them! They all come altered, microchipped, up-to-date on shots, and ready to work! Do you have a barn or outdoor area that Garfunkel could live in? Come meet him today! He can go home for $25.
Last but not least is Love! Love is a one-year-old female gerbil. Gerbils are very small, adorable desert rodents who are playful and entertaining to watch. Often they can be seen standing on their back legs with their front paws in the air, sniffing and exploring their surroundings! Gerbils are friendly and less shy than hamsters or Guinea pigs, and can be very tame. Also, gerbils live around three years, so Love has plenty of time left to spend with her future family! While gerbils are normally social animals, Love will actually do best as an only pet. Take her home today for $15!
