License Fees

License Fee Schedule for Larimer County: Timnath, Fort Collins, Loveland, & Wellington

Dogs and cats are required to be licensed in the cities of Fort Collins and Loveland, and the town of Wellington. Residents living in unincorporated areas of Larimer County are only required to license their dogs; cat and chicken licensing in unincorporated areas although not required, is encouraged. *New Ordinance*- Chickens, ducks and goats are required to be licensed in the City of Fort Collins.

Effective February 1, 2019 Fees are:
  • $15 annually - dogs and cats under 1 year of age (spayed/neutered or intact)
  • $15 annually - dogs and cats over 1 year altered (spayed or neutered)
  • $50 annually - dogs and cats over 1 year, not altered (intact - not spayed or neutered)
  • $25 annually - goats 

**If you are a senior age 62 and older and reside within Loveland city limits, you are eligible for a license for each pet at no charge. To qualify for this license, please apply in person at 3501 E 71st Street, Loveland, CO, 80538, or mail us proof of your residence and date of birth. 

**If you are a senior age 62 and older and income qualified for City of Fort Collins services, please call 970-416-2350, as you are eligible for a license for each pet at no charge. You must renew on an annual basis. The license fee will be paid by the City of Fort Collins.

 

**Spayed/neutered pets only.

*Optional Cat Licensing Where Not Required*: $5.00. Current rabies is required 

*Residents in unincorporated Larimer County are encouraged to purchase a license for their cats as well, although not required by law. Current rabies is required by law.

*If you live outside Larimer County and wish to have a license for your pet the fee is $5 since it is not within our jurisdicton. This is a great way to get your pet back home to you should he or she become lost. Current rabies is required.

To purchase a pet license in person, please visit us at 3501 E 71st Street, Loveland, CO 80538, or stop by the office of one our participating veterinarians selling pet licenses or an approved pet license center located in northern Colorado.
