Jurisdictional Licensing Requirements

  • Residents of Larimer County and Timnath are required to have their animals vaccinated by a licensed veterinarian and need to license their dogs only on an annual basis.
  • Residents of the City of Fort Collins, the City of Loveland, and the Town of Wellington are required to have vaccinated and licensed both their dogs and cats on an annual basis.
  • *New Ordinance* - Residents of the City of Fort Collins are required to have vaccinated and licensed all goats on an annual basis.   • *New Ordinance* - Residents of the City of Fort Collins are required to have chickens licensed. This is a one-time fee paid per coop.
  • Residents of Estes Park or Berthoud, please contact your Town Hall for licensing requirements.

Please note: Additional impoundment fees and court charges may apply when a stray animal is impounded without a license tag.
