“To Promote and Provide the Responsible Care and Treatment of Animals”

Wildlife

Due to a reduction by the City of Loveland in their animal control contract payments for 2012, Larimer Humane Society will no longer be responding to calls regarding sick, injured or orphaned wildlife within Loveland city limits. Exceptions apply for specific species prone to carrying rabies (including, but not limited to: bats, raccoons and skunks) exhibiting unnatural behaviors that pose a threat to public safety and have come into contact with a domestic animal or human.

Larimer Humane Society will gladly accepted any orphaned, sick or injured wildlife found within Loveland city limits delivered to the shelter by a good Samaritan. Upon delivery of the animal to the shelter, Larimer Humane Society’s WildKind team will provide the care necessary for rehabilitation, if appropriate.

Please note: Larimer Humane Society does not trap and relocate nuisance wildlife. Please refer to our WildKind web pages for suggestions on how to peacefully co-exist and deter our wild friends away from your property or contact our WildKind staff directly by calling (970) 226-3647 ext. 322. Alternatively, you can contact a local pest control agency for assistance.

For wildlife concerns with animals larger than a coyote, please contact the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife for assistance at (970) 472-4300.
