Bob Nightwalker

BobNightwalker Title: WildKind Manager

Bob Nightwalker is the Manager of WildKind, Larimer Humane Society’s wildlife rehabilitation department.  An employee of the shelter since 2000, Bob utilizes his formal education in exotic animal training and management and over 20 years of experience in working with animals to rehabilitate the nearly 3,000 ill, injured and orphaned wildlife that find their way to Larimer Humane Society each year.  In addition to his wildlife rehabilitation responsibilities, Bob evaluates and provides for the daily care of the exotic and barnyard animals sheltered at Larimer Humane Society.  He also works closely with the health department to monitor the general health of wildlife in the area, and offers solutions to the public on how to properly co-exist with Colorado’s wild animals through humane solutions to wildlife conflicts.

Prior to assuming his position as the Manager of WildKind, Bob served as an Animal Protection & Control officer with Larimer Humane Society.  Before joining the shelter staff, Bob served as the Barn Manager at the Poudre River Equestrian Center and Zookeeper at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, where he tended to hippopotamuses, penguins, and a variety of small and large primates including gorillas, orangutans and chimps.

Bob graduated from Moorpark College with an associate’s degree in exotic animal training and management. He holds a Master Wildlife Rehabilitation license in the state of Colorado and a federal permit with U.S. Fish and Wildlife, necessary to rehabilitate and release the migratory birds WildKind receives.

Bob is a native Coloradoan and grew up in Larimer County.  He’s excited to share his knowledge of Colorado wildlife with the northern Colorado community and hopes that together, we can help preserve the habitat of several of our wild animal friends.

Bob lives with his girlfriend Sarah and son Tallon.  Together they care for Pylot, a nine-year-old black lab mix; Lucy, a 13-year-old Domestic Longhair cat, and two geckos.
