Meet the Staff
Jenny Gaukel
Title: Shelter ManagerJenny Gaukel is the Shelter Manager for Larimer Humane Society. In this position, Jenny is responsible for the daily operations associated with the companion-animal side of the shelter. She leads a stellar team of client service representatives, animal care technicians, evaluation and enrichment coordinators, and a foster care and transfer coordinator to ensure for the proper care and humane treatment of the shelter animals, as well as a positive adoption experience for members of the general public.
Jenny first began her service with the organization as an animal care volunteer with her son through Larimer Humane Society’s “Partner-Up” program, a division of our volunteer program that allows for young people ages 10-15 to volunteer at the shelter with an adult parent or guardian. Jenny later joined the staff in May of 2008 as a client service supervisor.
Jenny felt an instant connection to Larimer Humane Society’s mission and vision upon first visiting the shelter as a volunteer and, over the years, has shared her passion for helping homeless animals find compassionate homes both through her work and continued volunteer service with the organization as a foster parent.
Jenny and her husband Dave are the proud parents of three young men and a Chocolate Point Ragdoll Siamese named Cassie, a Larimer Humane Society alumnus.
