JenniferOrme Title: Director of Operations

Jennifer Orme joined Larimer Humane Society as the shelter’s Director of Operations in November 2010.  In this position, Jennifer is responsible for the strategic direction and overall management of the Operations Division, which includes the departments of Animal Care and Placement, Wildlife Rehabilitation, Veterinary Services, Information Technology and Facility Maintenance.

Jennifer joined Larimer Humane Society with over 25 years of experience in the animal welfare industry.  Prior to joining Larimer Humane Society, Jennifer was the CEO of her own consulting business, Jennifer Orme Consulting, where she served as a coach and mentor to animal welfare staff and executives on best practices, facilitating over 800 hours of specialty training.  She is a subject matter expert on animal care and control topics ranging from shelter building and design to humane standards of care.  Her past clients include the American Humane Association, The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the American Boarding Kennel Association, PetSmart Charities and numerous animal care and control agencies nationwide.

Before forming her own consulting business, Jennifer served as the Director of Services for Animal Care Equipment and Services in Boulder and as an associate director at the American Humane Association in Englewood.  She also worked as a shelter director for the Peoria Animal Welfare Shelter and the Champaign County Humane Society in Illinois.

Jennifer grew up caring for animals; she knew from a very early age that she was destined for a career in animal welfare. Her family cat Pooker had an impact on her entire family. In fact, out of five children, three pursued a career in animal welfare at one time.  Jenny started her service to animals at the age of 17 when she joined the volunteer corps of a small humane organization in Indiana.  Her passion grew into a life-long career that eventually brought her Colorado to work for the American Humane Association. She is excited to be a part of the team at Larimer Humane Society and an integral part of the team to build a new facility for the animals.

Jennifer resides in Loveland, Colorado with her cat Frank, a 10-year-old orange tabby, and Charles Edward III "Chuck," a 6-year-old Domestic Shorthair.
