pdfAnimal Care Technician
Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants to join our Animal Care Technician (ACT) team.  Our ACTs are responsible for the daily care of Shelter animals as well as habitat cleaning.  Animal care positions involve a significant amount of animal interaction and physical labor with limited sedentary work.  Animals in our care include dogs, cats, small mammals, exotic animals, barnyard animals and more.  Work shifts vary and generally include at least one weekend day as the positions provide animal care coverage from 7:00am to 7:30pm Monday throughFriday, and from 7:00am to 5:30pm on Saturday and Sunday.  Please include days and times of work availability, as well as start date availability, in cover letter.

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for our Foster and Transfer Coordinator position.   This position is responsible for coordinating the animal foster care and animal transfer programs for the organization. Job emphasis will be on coordinating foster care appointments and responding to foster volunteer needs as well as working with transfer partners.  Coordinates foster care volunteer home inspections and recruits, trains and supervises department volunteers.  Coordinates movement of animals in and out of foster care and to and from transfer partners.  The work schedule for the job will be five days a week including a weekend day.  Overtime and attendance at some events will be required.  Please include days and times of availability in cover letter.

Larimer Humane Society is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Animal Protection and Control (APC) Officer. The Society’s APC positions are full-time, 40 hours per week, jobs responsible for enforcing State, County and City codes and ordinances governing animal control functions (e.g. field enforcement, licensing, animals at large, animal bite investigations, etc.) and includes animal handling and constraint. The position also performs the duties of an Animal Control Dispatcher. Officers represent the organization in a professional and courteous manner at all times. This position requires learning a wide range of policies, procedures and processes quickly and includes a significant amount of field work and animal handling. Requirements include a minimum of one-year animal care, welfare and/or handling in a professional position. Proven clerical and math skills required. Must be able to read and interpret ordinances, prioritize duties and multi-task within a busy work environment. Ability to relate information to the public and staff in a concise, clear manner required as is the ability to work in direct contact with aggressive, injured animals. Previous enforcement and/or dispatch experience desired as is being bilingual English/Spanish. Solid computer skills required and knowledge of Chameleon software helpful. The work schedule is generally 4x10 or 5x8, subject to business need, and includes one weekend day. Compensated on-call overnight shifts are required as are holiday shifts. Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings. Living arrangements within 30 miles of the Shelter due to on-call duties. Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for a Behavior and Enrichment Specialist.  Reporting to the Shelter Manager, this is a full-time position serving as an internal animal behavior and training resource for the Shelter and an external resource for our partners.  The position will design, document and/or implement behavior-related programs. Behavior and enrichment responsibilities include ensuring shelter animals behaviorally assessed for adoption, foster, transfer and behavior treatment plans.  Works to ensure enrichment needs of shelter animals are being met. The position is responsible for providing support and training for new team members as well as assisting the Shelter Manager with department operations as needed.  Requirements include a minimum of an Associate’s degree in biology, animal behavior, animal husbandry or comparable field of study, or equivalent work experience.  One year of behavior assessment hands-on experience required.  Animal enrichment experience preferred. Companion animal behavior modification experience strongly preferred.  Proven CPDT-KSA status, or in process of obtaining it, strongly preferred as is IAABC Shelter Affiliate status.  Previous veterinary assistant experience helpful.  The general work schedule for the position is five days per week with one-weekend day shift and some evenings.  Please include days and times of availability in cover letter.  Local candidates preferred as there is no relocation assistance for the position.

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Client Services Representative (CSR).  Our CSRs represent the Organization in a professional and courteous manner and provide quality service at the Shelter’s front desk.  The job requires great customer service skills, both in person and over the phone.  Must be able to quickly learn and accurately use specialized software as well as learn and apply a wide range of policies and procedure.  Work includes processing animal adoptions, animal returns to owners and animal surrenders as well as physical animal handling and other duties.  The job includes both sedentary work when processing client information and physical work when handling animals.  Work shifts vary and generally include at least on weekend day.  Please include days and times of work availability, as well as start date availability, in cover letter.

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Client Services Supervisor.  Our Client Services Supervisors are responsible for the operations of the Service Desk, during a particular shift, ensuring clients receive consistent and high quality services.  Services include animal adoptions, intakes, returns and more.  This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, working supervisor position.  Incumbents participate in our Shelter Team and Supervisor/Manager meetings and are engaged in reviewing work flow and suggesting and implementing improvements.  Requirements include two years of customer service experience plus one year of proven staff supervisory experience, preferably in an animal related industry, or six months of Larimer Humane Society CSR lead experience.  This position includes daily interaction with animals in our care in addition to service to clients.  The schedule for this position will include at least one weekend day.  Overtime required as needed.  Please include start date availability, days and times of work availability and pay rate requirements in cover letter.  Local candidates preferred as there is no relocation assistance.

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for a Development Associate I position on our fund-raising team.  Development Associates at Larimer Humane Society maintain the Organization’s donor database, process and acknowledge donor contributions, oversee the recurring gift program, prepare reports, assist with special events and provide additional support to the Development (fund raising) department.  Priorities for the Development Associate I position are gift entry and acknowledgement duties including processing donor contributions, tracking in-kind donations and maintaining related records, and drafting donor-centered letters.  Additional duties involve administering mailings, volunteer oversight, assisting with events as needed and overseeing development supplies.  The work involves a significant amount of data review, data entry and attention to detail.  Requirements include a four year college degree or equivalent applicable experience; a minimum of two years proven experience and proficiency with MS Excel; one year project management experience; excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and more.  Animal welfare and Chameleon software experience are pluses.  Data management experience is helpful as is Raisers Edge and Wealth Engine software experience.  This is an desk centered job with a general work schedule of Monday through Friday with some weekend and evening shifts as needed.  Please include days and times of work availability, start date availability and salary requirements in cover letter.

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Coordinator position.  Reporting to the Director of Operations, this is a full-time position responsible for facility maintenance tasks in, and at, the shelter building and any other property owned or operated by Larimer Humane Society.  Essential duties include ensuring proper maintenance of the Shelter facilities equipment and grounds.  The incumbent performs light carpentry, painting, tiling, routine plumbing, daily janitorial and cleaning tasks, grounds keeping and more.  Must have solid computer skills.  A high school diploma, or equivalent, plus one year of facility maintenance and project management  experience is required.  The general work schedule is 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend and evening hours as required.  Please include days and times of availability, as well as salary requirements, in a cover letter.  Local applicants preferred. Hourly-rate hiring range begins in the lower teens and is negotiable commensurate with applicable experience.
