pdfAnimal Foster and Transfer Coordinator
Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society is growing the Foster and Transfer team and is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Foster and Transfer Coordinator.  Our Coordinator positions are responsible for the Shelter’s animal foster care and animal transfer programs.  Position responsibilities are primarily coordinating foster care appointments, responding to foster volunteer needs and working with animal transfer partners.  Work tasks include coordination of foster care volunteer home inspections and recruiting, training and supervising department volunteers as well as coordinating the movement of animals in and out of foster care and to and from transfer partners.  The position will involve driving long distances and some overnight stays as needed.  Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in biology, animal behavior, animal husbandry, a related field or equivalent applicable work experience.  Minimum of one year companion animal care and handling required as is proven customer service experience.  Euthanasia and vaccination certification desirable.  The work schedule for the job will be five days a week including one weekend day.  Overtime and attendance at some events will be required.  Please include days and times of availability in cover letter.

pdfBehavior Coordinator (Animal Shelter)

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Behavior Coordinator.  Reporting to the Shelter Manager, these positions serve as an internal resource for basic animal behavior for the Shelter.  Evaluation responsibilities include evaluating the animals in our care for outcomes including adoption, foster care, transfer, medical attention and more, including review for euthanasia.   Our Behavior Coordinators also develop and/or implement programs and practices to meet the enrichment needs of companion animals including dogs, cats, small mammals, reptiles and more.  There is a significant amount of direct animal interaction required as well as supervision and training of volunteers.  Additional duties include communicating with clients in person, by phone and through email and creating basic help guides for clients and animal foster volunteers.  Requirements include a minimum of an Associate Degree in biology, the animal sciences, animal husbandry, veterinary-related medicine or an associated field of study or equivalent and applicable work experience.  A minimum of over one year work experience in the animal welfare industry, or over 8 months of current experience with Larimer Humane Society, as well as one year of customer service is required.  Previous animal behavior evaluation and/or enrichment experience desirable.  Chameleon experience is a plus.  Previous veterinary assistant or technician experience helpful.  Work shifts are five days a week including one weekend day.  Overtime and attendance at some events will be required.  Please include days and times of availability, and salary requirements, in cover letter.

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of regular full-time (40 hours per week) Client Services Representative (CSR).  This is a regular full-time, 40 hour per week, position.  Our CSRs represent the Organization in a professional and courteous manner and provide quality service at the Shelter’s front desk.  The job requires great customer service skills, both in person and over the phone.  English and Spanish bilingual skills and experience are a plus.  Must be able to quickly learn and accurately use specialized software as well as learn and apply a wide range of policies and procedure.  Work includes processing animal adoptions, animal returns to owners and animal surrenders as well as physical animal handling, data entry and other duties.  The job includes both sedentary work when processing client information and physical work when handling animals.  Must have emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills. Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Client Services Supervisor.  Our Client Services Supervisors are responsible for the operations of our Adoption and Intake areas, during a particular shift, ensuring services to clients are consistent and high quality.  Services include animal adoptions, returns, intakes, merchandise sales and more.  The job is a full-time, 40-hour per week, working supervisor position.  Incumbents train and supervise Client Services Representatives and volunteers, and are engaged in client services tasks.  Additional responsibilities include participating in our Shelter Team and Supervisor and Manager meetings and reviewing work-flow, creating schedules and suggesting and implementing improvements.  The job involves daily, hands-on, interaction with animals including dogs, cats, small mammals, birds, various types of reptiles and more.  Requirements include two years of customer service experience plus one year of proven staff supervisory experience, preferably in an animal related industry, or six months of Larimer Humane Society Lead experience.  Proven emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills required.  The schedule for this position will include a weekend day and overtime will be required as needed.  Please include start date availability, days and times of work availability and pay requirements in cover letter.  Local candidates preferred as there is no relocation assistance available for the position.

pdfEmergency Preparedness and Response Coordinator (Animal Shelter)
Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Emergency Preparedness and Response Coordinator for our Disaster Animal Response Team and Community Animal Response Team Coordination (CART/DART).  The position is responsible for coordinating the Organization’s collaborative framework for emergency preparedness, response, evacuation and recovery efforts with regard to the protection and care of domestic pets and service animals in Larimer County, Colorado.  Tasks include understanding, updating and implementing the Organization’s animal emergency preparedness and response plans in alignment with State and FEMA definitions and Organizational expectations.  This includes coordination of the volunteer component of the Shelter’s disaster response team initiative and physical emergency response trailer.    

Recruits for, supervises, trains and retains program volunteers.  Assists with the Organization’s internal emergency preparedness and safety initiatives.  Degree or equivalent combination of education and applicable work experience required.  Minimum of 2 years practical experience in emergency management, project management or volunteer supervision/management.  One year of volunteer supervisory or lead experience.  Animal welfare experience preferred.  Experience with MicroSoft suite and desktop publishing, graphics and spread sheets.  Completion of specified FEMA certification courses a plus.  Training and public speaking experience required.  Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.  Must be able to work a flexible schedule including during emergencies as needed.  Overtime and attendance at some events will be required.  Please include days and times of availability, and salary requirements, in cover letter.

Larimer Humane Society is searching for qualified applicants for the position of IT Program Manager.  This position is a one-person IT department responsible for ensuring that Larimer Humane Society’s servers, personal computers, phone equipment and other IT equipment and systems are working and providing Organizational value to the fullest extent possible.  In addition, the incumbent provides various IT related training for employees as well as provides project support for the operations department and leadership team including, but not limited to, data collection and analyses as required.  Essential duty areas include: database and system administration and management; IT policies and procedures; software applications; technical assistance to staff regarding computer and software use; installing and configuring software, hardware and peripheral devices; vendor relation management; system security; strategy and budgeting assistance, and more.  The regular schedule for this position is on-site Monday through Friday.  Work at home opportunities for the position are limited.  Local applicants are preferred as relocation assistance is unavailable.  Please include availability and salary requirement in cover letter.

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Relief Shelter Veterinarian at our new, state of the art, shelter facility located in Northern Colorado.  The relief positions provide examinations, veterinary care, monitoring, dental and surgery services for animals in the care of Larimer Humane Society.  Incumbents serve as the shelter’s veterinarian, on an as-needed basis, in the absence of staff veterinarians.  Essential duties include performing spay/neuter and other surgeries, dentals and more.   Applicants must be licensed in the State of Colorado to practice veterinary medicine (or obtain CO license soon after hiring), must provide proof of Professional Liability insurance and must have high volume surgical sterilization experience.  Preference will be given to applicants with previous shelter experience.  Supervisory experience is helpful as is experience with exotics and small mammals.  Please indicate availability and rate requirement in cover letter.

Full-Time (40 hrs) or Part-Time (20 – 25 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society, located in Northern Colorado, is seeking qualified Veterinary Technician applicants.  Our Veterinary Technicians provide clinical and administrative support for the Shelter's Veterinary Services department.  Major responsibilities include assisting with the surgical program including induction and intubation of surgery patients; maintaining accurate records; performing basic animal assessment and triage; administering treatment and medications as needed; performing dental cleanings and more.  The position requires a minimum of 1 to 2 years of previous work experience in a veterinary clinic and/or animal shelter clinic.  Surgical assistance and proficiency with intubation, IV catheter placement and IV injection techniques is also required.  Both part-time and full-time positions generally include a weekend shift as well as holiday shifts as needed.  For consideration, please include days and hours of availability, desire for full-time or part-time employment, and salary requirements in cover letter.   

Expected hiring range for non-certified technicians begins at $12.50 per hour and increases for certified technicians.
