Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Dispatcher for our Animal Protection and Control team. Dispatchers at Larimer Humane Society are responsible for answering and responding to citizens’ calls for Animal Protection and Control assistance and for dispatching Officers. Priorities include responding to citizens’ calls regarding animal rescue, public safety, the enforcement of animal ordinances and more. Dispatchers also oversee Officers locations and monitor Officer safety while in the field. Incumbents maintain confidential and sensitive information relating to clients, the Organization and the Department. Work involves assisting clients with interpretation and understanding of animal ordinances, Department procedure and responsible animal ownership. Maintains accurate logs, reports and statistics of daily activities. Represents the Organization and contracted jurisdictions in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Must learn a wide range of policies, procedures and processes quickly and accurately. Dispatchers also perform the duties of a Field Officer on an as-needed basis and follow all safety protocols. Proven clerical and math skills required as are solid computer skills. Knowledge of Chameleon software helpful. Previous dispatch experience preferred. The work schedule is generally 4x10 or 5x8, subject to business need, and includes one weekend day. A minimum of one compensated on-call overnight shift per quarter is required as are holiday shifts. Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and holidays as assigned. Living arrangements within 30 miles of the Shelter due to overnight shifts. Hiring range begins at $12.21 per hour and may be negotiable commensurate with applicable experience. Closes Nov. 30, 2017 or when filled.
