pdfAnimal Foster and Transfer Coordinator
Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society is growing the Foster and Transfer team and is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Foster and Transfer Coordinator.  Our Coordinator positions are responsible for the Shelter’s animal foster care and animal transfer programs.  Position responsibilities are primarily coordinating foster care appointments, responding to foster volunteer needs and working with animal transfer partners.  Work tasks include coordination of foster care volunteer home inspections and recruiting, training and supervising department volunteers as well as coordinating the movement of animals in and out of foster care and to and from transfer partners.  The position will involve driving long distances and some overnight stays as needed.  Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in biology, animal behavior, animal husbandry, a related field or equivalent applicable work experience.  Minimum of one year companion animal care and handling required as is proven customer service experience.  Euthanasia and vaccination certification desirable.  The work schedule for the job will be five days a week including one weekend day.  Overtime and attendance at some events will be required.  Please include days and times of availability in cover letter.

Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly 

Larimer Humane Society, located in Northern Colorado, is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Animal Protection and Control (APC) Officer. The Society’s APC Officer positions are regular full-time, 40 hour per week, jobs responsible for enforcing State, County and City codes and ordinances governing animal control functions (e.g. field enforcement, licensing, animals at large, animal bite investigations, etc.) and include animal handling and constraint. The position also performs the duties of an Animal Control Dispatcher.  Officers represent the organization in a professional, courteous and ethical manner at all times. The job requires learning a wide range of policies, procedures and processes quickly and includes a significant amount of physical field work, handling of animals of all temperaments and more.  Requirements also include a minimum of one-year animal care, animal welfare and/or animal handling in a professional capacity.  Proven clerical, typing and math skills required.  Must be able to read and interpret ordinances, prioritize duties and multi-task within a busy work environment.  Proven emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills required.  English and Spanish bilingual skills and experience are a plus.  Ability to relate information to the public and staff in a concise, clear manner required as is the ability to work in direct contact with aggressive and injured animals.  Previous enforcement and/or dispatch experience a plus.  Solid computer skills required and knowledge of Chameleon software helpful.  The work schedule is generally 4x10 or 5x8, subject to business need, and includes one weekend day and holiday shifts.  Compensated on-call overnight shifts are required.  Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings. Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of regular full-time (40 hours per week) Client Services Representative (CSR).  This is a regular full-time, 40 hour per week, position.  Our CSRs represent the Organization in a professional and courteous manner and provide quality service at the Shelter’s front desk.  The job requires great customer service skills, both in person and over the phone.  English and Spanish bilingual skills and experience are a plus.  Must be able to quickly learn and accurately use specialized software as well as learn and apply a wide range of policies and procedure.  Work includes processing animal adoptions, animal returns to owners and animal surrenders as well as physical animal handling, data entry and other duties.  The job includes both sedentary work when processing client information and physical work when handling animals.  Must have emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills. Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Client Services Supervisor.  Our Client Services Supervisors are responsible for the operations of our Adoption and Intake areas, during a particular shift, ensuring services to clients are consistent and high quality.  Services include animal adoptions, returns, intakes, merchandise sales and more.  The job is a full-time, 40-hour per week, working supervisor position.  Incumbents train and supervise Client Services Representatives and volunteers, and are engaged in client services tasks.  Additional responsibilities include participating in our Shelter Team and Supervisor and Manager meetings and reviewing work-flow, creating schedules and suggesting and implementing improvements.  The job involves daily, hands-on, interaction with animals including dogs, cats, small mammals, birds, various types of reptiles and more.  Requirements include two years of customer service experience plus one year of proven staff supervisory experience, preferably in an animal related industry, or six months of Larimer Humane Society Lead experience.  Proven emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills required.  The schedule for this position will include a weekend day and overtime will be required as needed.  Please include start date availability, days and times of work availability and pay requirements in cover letter.  Local candidates preferred as there is no relocation assistance available for the position.

Larimer Humane Society seeks qualified candidates for the position of Events and Development Coordinator.  Reporting to the Development Manager, this highly visible position is responsible for project planning and implementation of the Organization’s fundraising events, developing effective business and sponsorship partnerships, assisting with direct mail and donor programs and more.  Must have emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills.  Position requirements include a minimum of one year demonstrated comparable event and project management experience.  Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.  Demonstrated computer skills, attention to detail and a proven ability to multi-task and learn quickly.  Raiser’s Edge experience highly preferred as is database management experience.  Classy, Greater Giving and Wealth Engine experience a plus.  Must be able to work a flexible schedule with regular weekend and evening shifts and overtime as required.  Please include availability and salary requirements in cover letter.  Local applicants preferred as relocation assistance is unavailable.

Relief, Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Relief Shelter Veterinarian at our new, state of the art, shelter facility located in Northern Colorado.  The relief positions provide examinations, veterinary care, monitoring, dental and surgery services for animals in the care of Larimer Humane Society.  Incumbents serve as the shelter’s veterinarian, on an as-needed basis, in the absence of staff veterinarians.  Essential duties include performing spay/neuter and other surgeries, dentals and more.   Applicants must be licensed in the State of Colorado to practice veterinary medicine (or obtain CO license soon after hiring), must provide proof of Professional Liability insurance and must have high volume surgical sterilization experience.  Preference will be given to applicants with previous shelter experience.  Supervisory experience is helpful as is experience with exotics and small mammals.  Please indicate availability and rate requirement in cover letter.

Part-Time (20 – 25 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society, located in Northern Colorado, is seeking qualified Veterinary Technician applicants.  Our Veterinary Technicians provide clinical and administrative support for the Shelter's Veterinary Services department.  Major responsibilities include assisting with the surgical program including induction and intubation of surgery patients; maintaining accurate records; performing basic animal assessment and triage; administering treatment and medications as needed; performing dental cleanings and more.  The position requires a minimum of 1 to 2 years of previous work experience in a veterinary clinic and/or animal shelter clinic.  Surgical assistance and proficiency with intubation, IV catheter placement and IV injection techniques is also required.  Both part-time and full-time positions generally include a weekend shift as well as holiday shifts as needed.  For consideration, please include days and hours of availability, desire for full-time or part-time employment, and salary requirements in cover letter.   

Expected hiring range for non-certified technicians begins at $12.50 per hour and increases for certified technicians.
