pdfAnimal Care Technician (ACT)

Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society seeks qualified applicants to join our Animal Care Technician (ACT) team.  Please review the job description and include your days and times of work availability, as well as start date availability and note part-time or full-time, in a cover letter.  Our ACTs are responsible for the daily care of Shelter animals as well as habitat cleaning.  Animal care positions involve a significant amount of animal interaction and physical labor with limited sedentary work.  Animals in our care include dogs, cats, small mammals, exotic animals, barnyard animals and more.  Must have emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills.  Work shifts vary and include at least one weekend day as the positions generally provide animal care coverage from 7:30am to 7:30pm Monday through Friday and from 7:30am to 5:30pm Saturday and Sunday.  Local applicants are preferred as relocation assistance is unavailable.

Larimer Humane Society seeks qualified applicants for the position of Animal Protection and Control (APC) Officer.  Please include days and hours of work availability, as well as start date availability and salary requirements, in a cover letter.  Our Animal Control Officers are responsible for enforcing State, County and City codes and ordinances governing animal control functions (e.g. field enforcement, licensing, animals at large, animal bite investigations, etc.) and include animal handling and constraint. The position also performs the duties of an Animal Control Dispatcher.  Officers represent the organization in a professional, courteous and ethical manner at all times. The job requires learning a wide range of policies, procedures and processes quickly and includes a significant amount of physical fieldwork, handling of animals of all temperaments and more.  Requirements include a minimum of one-year animal care, animal welfare and/or animal handling experience in a professional capacity.  Proven clerical, typing and math skills required.  Must be able to read and interpret ordinances, prioritize duties and multi-task within a busy work environment.  Proven emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills required.  English and Spanish bilingual skills and experience are a plus.  Ability to relate information to the public and staff in a concise, clear manner is required as is the ability to work in direct contact with aggressive and injured animals.  Previous enforcement and/or dispatch experience a plus.  Solid computer skills required and knowledge of Chameleon software helpful.  The work schedule is generally 4x10 or 5x8, subject to business need, and includes one weekend day, holiday shifts and compensated on-call overnight shifts.  Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings.  Living arrangements within 30 miles of the Shelter due to on-call duties.  Local applicants preferred as relocation assistance is unavailable.

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Client Services Representative (CSR).  .  Our CSRs represent the Organization in a professional and courteous manner and provide quality service at the Shelter’s front desk.  The job requires great customer service skills, both in person and over the phone.  Must be able to quickly learn and accurately use specialized software as well as learn and apply a wide range of policies and procedure.  Work includes processing animal adoptions, animal returns to owners and animal surrenders as well as physical animal handling, data entry and other duties.  The job includes both sedentary work when processing client information and physical work when handling animals.  Must have emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills. pdfClient Services Supervisor

Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Larimer Humane Society Client Services Supervisors are responsible for the operations of the Service Desk, during a particular shift, ensuring clients receive consistent high quality services.   Services include animal adoptions, returns, intakes, merchandise sales and more.  This is a full-time, working supervisor position with engagement in all services tasks.  The position involves daily interaction with animals in our care in addition to providing services to clients.  Incumbents participate in the Shelter Team and Supervisor/Manager meetings and are engaged in reviewing work flow, creating schedules and suggesting and implementing improvements.  Requirements include a minimum of two years of proven customer service experience, plus one year of proven supervisory experience or six months of Larimer Humane Society lead experience.  Proven emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills required as are effective verbal and written communication skills.  Must have strong organizational and leadership skills.  The schedule for this position will include at least one weekend day.  Please include start date availability, days and times of work availability and pay rate requirements in cover letter.

Expected hiring range is between $14.00 and $15.00 per hour.

Larimer Humane Society seeks qualified applicants for the position of Director of Animal Protection and Control (APC).  Please include availability and salary requirements in cover letter.  Reporting to the CEO, the Director is responsible for providing strategic direction, overall management and tactical animal control leadership for Larimer Humane Society located in Northern Colorado.  The incumbent directs the enforcement of county and municipality ordinances and state statutes relating to animal welfare and public safety.  Develops and implements policies, programs and services related to Animal Control for contractual jurisdictions and ensures Organizational compliance.  Develops programs and activities to promote responsible pet ownership consistent with the values and mission of Larimer Humane Society.  Manages a team of approximately twelve (12) Animal Control and Dispatch officers.  Serves as a field officer on occasion, as needed.  Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent applicable experience, a minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience and four (4) years of field Animal Protection and Control, Code Enforcement or Law Enforcement experience.  Proven customer service skills are required, as are solid verbal and written communication and computer skills.  Public speaking experience is required and spokesperson experience is desired.  Humane Officer State Certification and court testimony experience is desired and certifications including CAACO, NACA, NACHO and CAWA are a plus.  Contract negotiation and government liaison experience is a plus as are animal shelter and Chameleon software experience.   Bilingual, written and spoken, in English and Spanish a plus.  Proven emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills.  Relocation assistance may be available. 

Expected hiring range is in the $60k’s and may be negotiable commensurate with experience.  Closes when filled.

Larimer Humane Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Licensing Assistant.  This is a regular full-time, 40 hour per week, position.   Our Licensing Assistants are responsible for processing animal licenses, rabies vaccination records and delivering associated customer service.  Incumbents assist the public by phone, email and in person.  The position work involves a significant amount of sedentary data entry and customer interaction.  Assists with bulk mailings and may assist with documentation delivery and retrieval for partner clinics.  Requirements include a minimum of one year customer service experience as well as data entry experience.  Must be able to learn licensing laws and regulations, rabies tag rules and regulations, and specialized software quickly.  Necessary skills include solid computer and data entry skills, customer service skills, emotional intelligence skills, and work ethics and integrity skills.  English and Spanish bilingual skills and experience, verbal and written, are desired and include a wage premium.  The work schedule for our Licensing Assistants is Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.  Please review the full job description for qualifications and requirements and include days and hours of work availability, as well as start date availability, in a cover letter.  Local applicants are preferred as relocation assistance is unavailable.

Larimer Humane Society, located in Northern Colorado, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Marketing and Community Outreach Program Manager.  Please include availability and salary requirements in cover letter.  This is a full time, salaried, exempt position reporting to the Director of Development and Community Relations.  The position is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of Larimer Humane Society’s marketing, public relations, social media and advertising efforts. The Marketing and Community Outreach Manager also engages in the research, planning, implementation and evaluation of community outreach activities necessary to build awareness of Larimer Humane Society’s mission, vision, programs, services and community achievements.  Requirements include a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in marketing and community relations.  Minimum of two years professional experience with public relations, promotions and community programs; minimum two years of proven audience-focused persuasive and informational writing experience.  One year media relations experience.  Website and social media program management required.  Basic budgeting and planning experience.  Media spokesperson experience preferred.  Experience producing visual media a plus as is experience with donor and emergency communications.  Non-profit experience desired.  Proven and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills and the ability to positively interact with diverse populations.  Must have emotional intelligence, work ethics and integrity skills. Must be willing and able to work a varied schedule including weekends and evenings as required.  Local candidates preferred as relocation assistance is not available. 

Hiring range starts in the high-40s and is negotiable commensurate with experience.
